Hernandez Foundation is based in Southern California and focuses on education, Lifecraft, and mentorship.

We believe young people deserve opportunities to understand the world around them, discover their strengths, and develop the skills to make informed choices.

Our approach connects two priorities: expanding access to useful learning experiences and developing practical partnerships that can improve how those experiences are delivered.

To help young people access education, practical life skills, and mentorship that support their development and future opportunities.

An education experience that develops both academic understanding and the ability to navigate everyday life.

We begin with a clearly defined need. We then identify appropriate partners, establish responsibilities, develop a realistic budget, and determine how progress will be evaluated.

We want to learn what is useful, what is achievable, and what deserves further investment before expanding.

ReModel Education is the Hernandez Foundation’s education initiative. We are developing a collaborative approach that brings practical learning, mentorship, and career exploration into schools and community programs.

Across the country, schools are being asked to do more with less—while students face widening gaps in readiness, opportunity, and support. Too often, reform efforts are fragmented: new initiatives are layered on top of old systems, success metrics are unclear, and the people closest to students aren’t meaningfully included.  The Foundation was created to help change that by offering a single, coherent framework communities can rally behind—designed for real classrooms, real budgets, and real lives.

The Foundation supports change by:

• Building shared priorities across stakeholders 
• Translating goals into an implementation roadmap 
• Establishing metrics and feedback loops 
• Supporting continuous improvement over one-time initiatives 
• Amplifying what works and scaling it responsibly
• All grant recipients must make a pledge and commitment to be kind, patient, and tolerant to others.
   

Education reform fails when it becomes abstract, politicized, or impossible to execute. We aim to be the opposite:

• Practical: Designed to work inside real school schedules and constraints 
• Co-owned: Built with input from those closest to students 
• Measurable: Anchored in clear goals and transparent progress 
• Sustainable: Built to last beyond leadership changes
   

We envision an education system where:

• Students graduate with strong foundational skills and real options 
• Teachers are supported, respected, and equipped 
• Families have clarity and confidence in what schools are delivering 
• Communities can track progress and participate meaningfully 
• Schools are prepared to meet today’s needs—and tomorrow’s realities
